The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pushed up the rate of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
